So, OFA asked me to visit my State Representative, and communicate to him/her my support for Obama's health reform initiative, and share my personal story with his staff. Well, the office happens to be up the street from my house, so I said, to President Obama, "Yes! I! can! [do that]". And I signed up for a time 12:00 noon, on a Wednesday. And I put on a hat, because this is Texas, and my insurance company is in the process of trying to retroactively cancel my one-year-old individual health insurance policy because I had a basal cell carcinoma removed (that's the good cancer, by the way -- it's the one John McCain doesn't even count as real cancer). And I thought that my soon-to-be-best-pal Lamar should really hear my personal story. Because it kind of sucks.
But first I did a little research. And guess what? Lamar Smith is a
Christian Scientist!
How kooky! Like Scientology, only you're more likely tokill your children through medical neglect!
